Trying to make educational choices that fit for my families needs began as one of the most stressful times in my life as a parent. Finding Kerri and emerging consultants turned what could have been an overwhelming nightmare into a guided, easy to understand, flexible and smooth process. Her knowledge of the numerous options and her ability to match our families profile with particular schools and educational styles was a gift-come-true. We moved from Houston, Texas in the winter of 2009. I took it upon myself to place my son in a school. Well, lesson learned. When we decided he needed to move, I had no confidence in my ability to do the job. I found Laura online. She sympathized with me and knew exactly what to do. We met and within no time she had us on school tours and pretty soon filling out our applications. Our son recently started at a school Laura recommended and all I can say is he has never been happier. Thank you, Laura!
In placing your child, Laura takes complete ownership of the process. She listens to you, asks you the pertinent questions and then works her magic to find a great fit. She takes the entire picture into account from the child’s personality, family dynamic and logistics to match you with the ideal school. I worked with Laura Barr in January and February of 2011. We needed an educational consultant who knew the Denver area schools to help us find the best spot for our 4 year old son who has ASD. We were planning to move to Denver from Maryland.
From the beginning, Laura was insightful and caring as she got to know our family and our son. She reviewed his educational records and asked many questions about our son and our needs as a family. She took our family as a whole into account when helping us navigate the schools in the area. Right away she gathered information about schools, discussed them with me and then made a game plan for our visit from Maryland. She set up appointments and tours with school officials and teachers. She came with me on many of the visits and helped decipher and digest all the information. She even became a tour guide as we drove in and around Denver, showing me neighborhoods as they pertained to the schools we were looking at. As she got to know what we wanted she went on tours herself, driving long distances to get the information we needed and then relayed the information to me over the phone. She even took the time to set me up with a Realtor who gave me a tour of neighborhoods that we were interested in. We feel we learned invaluable information quickly about where we could send Owen to school and where we could live through Laura’s services. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a move to Denver as you navigate the school systems and living situations in the area or to anyone who needs help and direction regarding your child’s education.

Laura Barr helped guide us through the kindergarten application process for our 4 year old son. Prior to working with Laura, we were overwhelmed by the process. There seemed to be so many school choices both public and private. We did not know much about the quality or educational philosophies of these schools. It would have taken us months to gather this information on our own and some schools we may never have known about. The first time we met with Laura, we discussed our philosophies and educational goals for our children. Laura has a exceptional ability to understand a family’s values and beliefs and is very knowledgeable about the different schools in Denver.
